values

1. Nga Honongo - Relationships

We value the importance of whanau and we want to work towards building strong reciprocal relationships with you and your child so that they have a strong sense of belonging and well-being. This allows us to expand on experiences in their learning environment inclusive of routines. We also want to encourage good kind friendships with their peers demonstarting caring and kindness to others.

2. Te Ao Maori - Bicultural

This is our commitment to implementing a bicultural programme that helps our tamariki to grow their sense of self and identify themselves as a learner. Celebrating the dual heritage of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

3. Kotahitanga - Respect

We want to encourage our tamariki to demonstrate respect for one another and our environment, working towards a sustainable future. Treat others as they want to be treated, with kindness, consideration and thoughtfulness, and to use good manners.

4. Kia Tau - Social Competence

We want our tamariki to be resilient, to increase their independence and to gain strategies for conflict resolution. To be able to work with and alongside others, actively listening and to show empathy towards others. To have patience and a sense of self control.

5. Maramatanga - Resourcefullness

We encourage critical thinking, risk taking, and building on memory skills. To foster creativity and imagination amongst our tamariki, communicating their thoughts and ideas. Essential skills such as oral language, problem solving, physical skills, maths, science, the arts and technology will be integrated in our learning curriculum.
